Function: It is not a battery-operated device but rather a hand-powered magnet generator. The operator flips a safety switch to "FIRE" and squeezes the handle, creating a voltage spike to activate the blasting cap.

Safety: It includes a manual safety catch that must be released to operate. It is designed to be used with the M40 test set to ensure functionality before connecting to the live mine.

Usage: It is connected to the Claymore mine via a two-strand firing wire, which allows the operator to detonate the device from a safe distance, usually behind cover.

Collectability: Original Vietnam-era and later models are popular in militaria collecting, often featured in films like Blackhawk Down.
